Summary: Veteran coach Frank Rocco returns as L.C.A. head coach after assisting his son Chris the past two seasons. Despite their 4-and-6 record, Rocco felt last year’s team was a very good squad that came up just short in three games against quality opponents. The Bulldogs don’t return many starters from a year ago, they’ll be pretty new on both sides of the ball. The running game, led by senior tailback Zach Venhorst, could be a real strength this season along with the secondary. The linebackers are all new this year and so is the Bulldogs’ defensive coordinator. Former Petersburg head coach and one-time Buckingham Co. head man Josh Wallace will head up the defense that figures to be very different from a year ago. Rocco had great success in his first 12-year stint as L.C.A. head coach, winning six state titles and compiling an impressive 113-12 overall record.
